Ibrahimovic and Eto’o Swap Deals Complete

In what is surely the blockbuster switch of the summer, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto’o both completed their transfers to Barcelona and Inter Milan, respectively.

Ibrahimovic secured a 5-year contract to move to the Nou Camp today claiming that, ‘I was fed up of Italy, Milan’. The Swedish striker finished the season with 26 goals in 44 games. He will be wearing the No. 9 jersey that was worn previously by the other big player in today’s swap, Samuel Eto’o.

Eto’o also signed a 5-year deal. The striker said, “My first aim will be to win the Champions League.” Eto’o scored 34 goals in 44 games last season for Barcelona.

The deal between the two clubs saw Inter Milan get Eto’o (valued at 20-million Euros) plus another 46-million Euros from Barcelona for the services of Ibrahimovic. Alexander Hleb will move on loan to Inter Milan for a year as part of the deal. Inter has an option to buy Hleb at the end of his loan term.

Do you think Ibrahimovic is worth 40-million Euros more than Eto’o?

This is a decent transfer… if there ever was one. Barcelona lost an amazing player, however they gained an amazing player at the same time. So in my opinion it was a wise choice. However, it remains to be seen if either player can be successful at their respective clubs.
